What B0001 means
The official name, "Driver frontal stage 1 deployment control", names a control rather than a reading: the deployment control for the driver's frontal airbag, and specifically its first stage - the program's table lists B0002 as stage 2 of the same bag. What the code is about is that control, so unlike most codes the name quotes no measurement and no limit at all. The B at the front puts it in the body group: airbags, lighting, comfort.
This is a standard code. It means the same thing on every make of vehicle.
What the program shows for B0001
B0001 is one of the four example codes the program prints in its own Look up a code hint, so it can be typed in and named with no car attached. On the Inspection screen the Self-test monitors are all emissions tests - Misfire detection, Fuel system, Sensors and actuators, Catalytic converter, Oxygen sensors and the rest - so none of them is named after the restraints side, though the verdict beside them counts every stored code the car reports, whatever letter it starts with.
The program talks to the car over the standard engine-side OBD-II connection, so it has no live readings for airbags, pretensioners or seat sensors. If the car reports one of these codes, the Trouble Codes screen lists it under Stored, Pending or Permanent with its standard name where the program has one and tags manufacturer-specific codes, and Look up a code does the same offline with no car attached.
