P0201 Cylinder 1 injector circuit

System
Powertrain - engine and transmission

What P0201 means

"Injector circuit or open, cylinder 1" names the circuit the computer uses to fire the injector on cylinder 1, and "or open" means the circuit read as broken rather than as carrying a wrong value. The cylinder number is the engine computer's own. P0202 onward are the same circuit named for each of the other cylinders in turn.

This is a standard code. It means the same thing on every make of vehicle.

What the program shows for P0201

The program has no per-injector reading. What it does have per cylinder is the Misfire cyl cards on the Dashboard and the Full scan's per-cylinder misfire counts, and beside those the Full scan's on-board self-tests carry the fuel system bank results with the car's own limits.

The Dashboard has no per-injector or fuel pump readings; what it shows is Short and Long fuel trim, Air/fuel ratio, Manifold pressure beside Barometric, Engine load and Absolute load. The live Misfire count cards and the Full scan's per-cylinder misfire counters are the program's only cylinder-by-cylinder readings, and the Full scan's On-board self-tests include the Fuel system bank and Fuel system monitor results with the car's own limits. On diesels the Inspection screen shows whether the Boost pressure monitor has finished.
