What P0715 means
The reading behind the official name, 'Input or turbine speed sensor circuit', is the speed of the transmission's input — the turbine side of the torque converter, the shaft that carries the engine's turning into the gearbox. The word circuit puts the code on the electrical path that reading arrives on rather than on the figure itself: what was watched is the signal on that path against the electrical limits it is allowed to sit inside. Its two neighbours in the same family are the other verdicts on the same sensor — one for a figure outside its expected range, one for no signal at all.
This is a standard code. It means the same thing on every make of vehicle.
What the program shows for P0715
The Analysis screen's At idle table gives the average Engine speed over the parts of a recording where the engine idled with the car standing still, and the Trip screen's Highest and lowest seen keeps that same reading's extremes for the whole session.
The program has no transmission readings over the generic connection: no fluid temperature, gear, or input and output shaft speeds. It names the code on the Trouble Codes screen, shows Engine speed and Vehicle speed side by side on the Dashboard and records both through a drive for replay, and the freeze frame tab, When it happened, lists what the engine computer stored at the moment the code was set. Compare between two recordings shows whether the code is Gone, New or Still there.
